Htc Desire Vs Htc Wildfire - How Similar Are These Two Smartphones?

If you're one of those ardent followers of newest smartphones then you may have come across Htc a number of times. This constructor of high end phones based in Taiwan has been famed for their feature-rich Htc Desire smartphone. Now, they're set to take the mobile phone industry by storm again with their newest mobile gismo that is not only a more affordable unit than the earlier version mentioned above but is also said to "make the company's Htc Sense palpate accessible to younger audience" with the Htc Wildfire.

Upon closer inspection of these two units, they're not much dissimilar in the sense that they have more similarities than differences. Let's take a look at some of their features.

Htc Desire Vs. Motorola Droid X

Similarities

One of the first things consumers look into in smartphones is the type and version of operating principles the units make use of. Interestingly, both these phones from Htc run the Android 2.1 operating principles also known as the Éclair, which basically means that they pretty much have the same features to offer such as user interface, browser, wallpapers, etc.

Even the connectivity features of these two phones are the same. Both are able to associate to the internet and other gadgets straight through cellular networks by means of the fastest connectivity features available today - 3G Hsdpa 7.2 Mbps, Wlan WiFi 802.11 b/g and Class 10 versions for Gprs and Edge.

As expected, both of these phones are also able to associate locally straight through Bluetooth and microUsb. This is not of course surprising since approximately all mobile phones, today, even the midrange ones, are able to withhold the Usb and Bluetooth technologies.

Although there's a disagreement in their Ram, they can withhold the same storage capacity. Both accept microSd cards that can go as large as 32 Gb, which is more than adequate even for storing pictures taken by their built-in 5-megapixel digital camera.

Differences

The main disagreement that one notices when comparing these two smartphones from Htc is the size of the screen. While Htc Wildfire only has 3.2 inches Tft capacitive touchscreen with 240 x 320 pixels, the Htc Desire has a significantly bigger screen with its 3.7-inch Amoled capacitive touchscreen. Although both can display 16M colors, the old sports touch-sensitive controls and the useful turn-to-mute and lift-to-dim-out a call features.

Aside from the screen, the two phones house dissimilar processors. The Htc Desire runs on a 1 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor while the Htc Wildfire is equipped with a 528 Mhz Qualcomm Msm 7225 528 chip. This disagreement is even made more pronounced with the former's 576 Mb Ram, providing it with means for good performance, against the latter's mere 384 Mb.

Conclusion

There are of course no major differences in these two smartphones that make one of them far more piquant than the other. It all boils down to whether you find your unit's processing time an prominent aspect to consider. However, if you're on a exiguous budget, the Htc Wildfire may just be the model to consider since it is the more affordable phone. This is because Htc aims to reach more consumers with this phone, as opposed to the Htc Desire.
